COVID-19

Updates

December, 2020

Friends, Families and ALL Champions of DCET:

We are working very hard to maintain our FREE EDUCATION classes to continue serving our students hoping they continue to graduate from Spanish Basic Literacy, Elementary, Jr. High School, GED, Computer Literacy and Citizenship classes.

We are all working together to be sure we can adapt to the new era of The COVID-19 virus which worry us and is now obligating us to do things differently.

We are doing all that we can to combat the spread of this virus. Following the lead of our fellow education partners, the suggestions of the CDC and our City of Dallas leaders, Our community learning center La Escuelita will be temporarily closed until further notice.

During this time, our staff will be working remotely from their homes.  Although our teachers will not be caring for the students they love so much at

"La Escuelita", they will be keeping their families safe and isolated and working on lesson plans and activities for our reopening.

For many of the families we serve, this closure may create a hardship. We make a vow to you that we will reopen as soon as it is possible and responsible to do so. We are monitoring the situation daily and will keep everyone informed of our status.

To all the DCET families:

Changes in routine are very difficult for adults but for our little ones a change in routine can be quite confusing. Please take this time to engage at home with your child. Read books, play games, bond over fun filled activities.

If your family is faced with food insecurity please refer to the following resources from the Irving School District:

Continue monitoring our website at www.dcenti.org for up-to-date information.

To our all of friends:

As you are caring and planning for your own families needs, we ask that you also consider the needs of the families we serve and the families of the staff that serve them. We ask for your thoughts and prayers and hope that you consider supporting our programs as we navigate these uncharted waters.

We will continue to keep you informed of our progress, challenges and victories.

If you have any questions, please email us at dcenti1@sbcglobal.net

Together, Dallas/Fort Worth is a powerful community and we will overcome this current crisis. And through it all, our focus will always remain on our students' future.
